Fuyu-no-tabi's name means "travel by winter," indicating its arrival just after spring begins. For the collector of Japanese Clematis—or any lover of soft white flowers—Fuyu-no-tabi is simply a must-have. Its blooms are open and upward facing, in classic disc shape with unique accents. As you get to know Fuyu-no-tabi, you'll love its ruffled edges and soft red center.
A reliable Clematis, this Japanese variety exudes elegance in the middle of a border or bed. It also works well as a climber attached to lilac or viburnum—use these woody bushes as a natural archway, and enjoy these soft flowers appearing through their foliage. Deadhead this Clematis to encourage reblooming, and trim it back when the flowers begin to wane. Clematis 'Fuyu-no-tabi'

In our EZ Pruning Guide, this variety is in the YELLOW pruning category.
